What we do

We advise businesses and business owners. We talk in plain English. We hope you use Robson Scott because of the above and because whatever the issues facing you, we will clearly explain all possible solutions, and then deliver on taking you through them. When advising you, we will not only look at the solutions for the business issues, but also look at the effect of Personal Guarantees, leases, finance agreements, bank facilities, working capital funding, and other funding options.

In short, we will work with you to provide a complete solution.

FEES – ALL INITIAL MEETINGS ARE FREE. Only once we have assessed and discussed with you what your options are, will we forward a letter of advice, and a breakdown of what fees will be charged. REMEMBER! – fees only become payable if you want to move forward. If you walk away after going through the process of initial meetings, no fee is payable.

Business Principles

Eamonn Wall
Eamonn WallManaging Director
Eamonn is the Managing Director of Robson Scott.

He started his insolvency training in 1997 with Grant Thornton in London, and via a mid-tier practice, found himself in the North of England 4 years later. A short secondment became a lifestyle choice, and he has remained living in the North since.

Whilst Robson Scott’s highly capable insolvency practitioners oversee case management, Eamonn’s focus is the running of the business, and he sees the challenge of moving an insolvency practice to the forefront of the new digital frontier a full time job.

He is a keen amateur triathlete, and his idea of downtime is running and cycling up hills, or swimming in local lakes!

Kevin Pinkerton a Partner in Freeths Solicitors

‘Eamonn works very effectively in advising underperforming businesses. He ensures that he understands the business fully and works extremely hard with all stakeholders to work through the issues and if possible seeks to turn the Company around avoiding the need for formal insolvency’

Simon Orton
Simon OrtonSystems Director
Simon is the director in charge of IT and support services.

Originally from Darlington, he has lived across the country before finally settling back in the North East.

His specialism is in sourcing novel funding solutions for distressed businesses. Simon is often described as avuncular, and his non-judgemental approach dictates the overall friendly and warm service that Robson Scott has become renowned for.

When not looking after his chickens, Simon spends much of his spare time enjoying the company of his family. He is also a dab hand at DIY, and occasionally can be seen at auctions buying properties to renovate!

Daniel Harrison
Daniel HarrisonCorporate Insolvency Manager
Dan manages the corporate insolvency appointments for Robson Scott.

Having lived in Japan, Dan returned to the UK and worked within the debt advice industry. He passed his Certificate of Proficiency in Insolvency, and joined Robson Scott in 2014.

Although highly proficient in all things corporate, Dan is particularly good at managing the team, and ensuring we stay fully compliant.

Chris Horner
Chris HornerLicensed Insolvency Practitioner (Corporate)

Having joined Robson Scott in 2009 from the Official Receivers’ office, Chris sat and passed his Certificate of Proficiency in Insolvency in 2011, and went on to pass his full insolvency examinations in March 2014.

He has a strong technical mind, and as well as running Robson Scott’s corporate caseload, he can also be found writing some great blogs and articles on insolvency, some of which appear on this website! He is well supported by a team of insolvency technicians and trainee practitioners.

He also heads up all insolvency compliance within Robson Scott, a job made more challenging by our ever changing legislation.

He has a young family, and though little time for much else, once a year he still makes time for an annual pilgrimage to the Download festival.
